P & G Investments Warranty
Action work, strings, dampers,
pedal, and case finish will be warranted for 1 year after purchase. No
other warranty is implied or stated, which includes the soundboard. The
investment must be properly humidified and dehumidified to prevent adverse
aging and to maintain the proper humidity in the new soundboard just like
a brand new instrument. Dryness is the usual culprit for cracking
in soundboards, since few of these get dropped on the pavement. The new
soundboard is not warranted as P&G cannot control the humidity in your
home. 40% to 60% depending on season is best, with 45-50% as a good rule
of thumb.
25% is too low in winter. 75% is
too high in summer. A purchase of the instrument, warrants a purchase of
a humidifier and a dehumidifier near the instrument to protect the investment.
We will provide the humidity indicator widget. There are four seasons.
There are four tunings per year for the serious musician. This
instrument has been maintained at 40-50% humidity since restoration, and
was maintained at those tolerances at Hennessy Music and at P&G.
