"Ole
Bear" is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia
hailing from the Mississippi Delta. He is an avid music aficionado, member
of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, real estate appraiser and MAI/SRA member
of the Appraisal Institute, supporter of the University Concert Series
& the Friends of Music scholarship program at MU, old car collector,
avid concertgoer, amateur musician, and aspiring composer/conductor. He
currently owns a 1988 artist series SD 10 Baldwin concert grand prepared
by Mr. Hennessy as well as a Yamaha MX100II Disklavier linked to his music
computer programs. He loves ragtime, jazz, classical, 20th Century music,
film score music, and a good tango...
He is also most interested in modern piano manufacture and tone, and has accompanied Frank and Diane Hennessy several times to the Anaheim trade show of the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM). He has played many numerous makes of modern pianos, including Schimmel, Seiler, Bechstein, Bösendorfer, Kawai, Steinway, Yamaha, Falcone, Mason & Hamlin, and the Italian Fazioli, one of the most exquisite pianos in the world. He went to the last two Piano Technicians Guild Conventions in Providence, Rhode Island, and Kansas City, Missouri USA. He does not believe in sniggling your money on the Internet telling you your $50 garage sale piano is worth something more or less. He does consul market participants with respect to market prices with photographs and a technician's/rebuilder's inspection of the "critter" in question for listing and sale purposes.
Music is a passion. To make music is the extension of form and function into the sublime. A piano should epitomize form as well as function.... touch as well as tone. With respect to form and function... touch and tone...the world should be your Big Apple.
