Researching an old piano?....just surfing the Net?

Introduction

You probably found us because you are researching your old Packard, Fluffendooflel, Chickering, Steinway, or other vintage and very old piano in your living room? My name is Gale Bullock of Columbia, MO. I am a professionally designated real estate appraiser in the Appraisal Institute, but my passions extend beyond real estate appraisal to trout fishing, old cars, art, literature, opera, music, music composition, playing the piano, as well as the love of the pianoforte instrument. Some of my friends call me "Bear". One of my great passions is playing the piano and music composition. So, my love for the pianoforte parallels my music in general. I am also a piano retail store groupie. I travel. I learn. I play. I am also a Missourah Tiger Fan!

No, I don't give instant piano appraisals on the internet, nor do I research your old piano for free.

"Bear, give me the facts!   I haven't got all day!"

About..................."Piano History"...

This very quickly discusses vintage pianos compared to new pianos. It offers suggested reading including topics on Steinway pianos.  Mr. Larry Fine's The Piano Book, 3rd Edition, available at the library or in bookstores, is an excellent source material.  Pierce Piano Atlas, 10th Edition found in any public library is perhaps the ultimate Bible for finding out about your Packard or old Woofensnoofel antique piano.  In "Piano History", there is some pertinent information on Square Grands and Upright Grands.  Ms. Cynthia Boyd Hoover's "The Steinways and their Pianos in the 19th Century" is also featured as a very articulate article on 19th Century Steinway innovations.  The Registered Piano Technicians Guild is also featured and linked in our Website at the Main Menu Links. We also mention alternatives to Steinways, and vintage instrument dealers/piano retailers.

So,
Bear, take me there to...  4-So you want to buy a piece of piano history?

When you get back to our Main Menu...feel free to roam around awhile. You probably won't find another vintage piano Website quite like ours, but if you do, send me an Email.
